SONGKRAN, THAI NEW YEAR

 
Songkran refers to transition of the sun into the newsolar cyclical year, the Thai New Year. Songkran Festival is held on April 13, supposedly the hottest  day of the year. People good naturedly splash water onto others as a sign of their good wish .The Thai people gather together to merit on behalf of their ancestors and to make merry in celebrations. They also visit their relatives and respected elders to pour scented water over their hands, to give gifts of clothing, and to ask for their blessings for the new year.
             The beautiful parade is decorated with flowers  and   presented by nice ladies in  Thai anceint costume.
